Goals
The Homeland Society acts as a hub for ideas, partnerships, and community action. Our goal is to connect people and initiatives that improve the social, cultural, and economic life of Jelovac and of Jelovac and persons who are in any way connected to the village.
We aim to:- Develop and advocate for programs in agriculture, healthcare, social welfare, information, culture, human rights, gender equality, environmental protection, and crime prevention.
- Strengthen cooperation among local governments, private subjects, and civic associations to improve infrastructure (roads, power systems, water supply, telephone networks) and community access to services.
- Preserve and celebrate traditional cultural heritage through events, education, and intergenerational transmission of knowledge.
- Organize seminars, conferences, and artistic programs that honor memory and identity - including commemorations such as the Breakthrough on Patrija (1942) and the Day of Remembrance for murdered children during WWII.
- Join national and international partners in advancing democracy, freedom of thought, gender equality, family values, and overall well-being.
At the heart of our efforts lie volunteerism and dedication - values that guide us toward our ultimate goal: bringing the Patrija Living Memories Home into full operation. Through this project, we aspire to become a living part of history: a part of the story, remembered by future generations!
Through our collective efforts, we believe we can accelerate the completion of this multi-purpose facility - a space where the culture of remembrance will be held in the highest regard. These endeavors serve as a lasting tribute not only to the legacy of our ancestors, but also to our own presence and contribution. They stand as proof that we were here, that we remembered, and that we built something meant to endure.
